PHYSICAL THERAPY

OUR APPROACH

ONE HOUR. ONE CLINICIAN. ONE PLAN BUILT ENTIRELY AROUND YOU.

At MBODY Physical Therapy + Wellness in Westlake Village, every PT session is one-on-one with your doctor of physical therapy. No aides, no shared time, no 30- minute handoffs. We built the clinic this way on purpose- because real results require real attention.

Our physical therapist specialize across four distinct areas: orthopedic rehabilitation, vestibular and dizziness rehab, pelvic health and geriatric care. When you contact us, our intake team matches you with the right clinician for your specific needs- not just whoever has availability.

We are an out-of-network, cash-pay practice and are currently in-network with Medicare. This model gives us the freedom to provide the kind of care that insurance-driven clinics simply can’t: longer sessions, deeper evaluations, and treatment plans that aren’t capped by billing codes.

HSA and FSA payments are accepted. If you have insurance benefits, we will provide superbills to help you submit for potential reimbursement. Referrals can be faxed directly to our office at (805) 426-8101 or emailed to hello@mbodyptandwellness.com.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy

  • Orthopedic physical therapy addresses conditions affecting the muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and bones of the body. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing a sports injury, dealing with arthritis, or struggling with pain that’s been dismissed as “just part of aging” - Orthopedic PT is designed to identify the actual source of dysfunction and correct it.

At MBODY, our orthopedic PT evaluations go beyond symptom management. We assess movement patterns, joint mechanics, strength imbalances, and compensatory habits to build a plan that addresses why you’re in pain- not just where.

    • Knee pain and post knee replacement rehab

    • Hip pain and hip replacement recovery

    • Shoulder, rotator cuff injuries and post-surgical rehab

    • Low back pain and sciatica

    • Neck pain and cervicogenic headaches

    • Ankle sprains and foot pain

    • Arthritis and Joint degeneration

    • Sports injuries and return-to-sport rehab

    • Post ACL, meniscus and labral repair

    • Tendinopathy and overuse injuries

  • Your first session is a comprehensive evaluation- we take the time to understand your full history, movement, and goals before any treatment begins. From there, your plan is built specifically for your body and your life. Sessions are hands-on, progressive and always one-on-one with your PT.

NOT YOUR TYPICAL PT EXPERIENCE. Many of our orthopedic patients come to us after unsatisfying experiences at insurance-based clinics- where 15-30 minutes on a machine and 5 minutes with a PT was the standard. At MBODY, that’s not how we work. You get full attention for the full session, every time.

Vestibular Rehabilitation & Dizziness Treatment

  • Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) is a specialized form of physical therapy designed to treat dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders caused by inner ear dysfunction or central nervous system conditions. The vestibular system- your body’s internal GPS for balance and spatial orientation- can be disrupted by injury, illness or degeneration. When it is, the effects range from mild unsteadiness to debilitating vertigo that makes daily life nearly impossible.

VRT works by retraining the brain to compensate for vestibular dysfunction through targeted exercises that challenge gaze stability, balance and motion tolerance. When performed by a clinician with advanced vestibular training it is highly effective for conditions that have often been underrated or misdiagnosed.

  • MBODY’s vestibular rehabilitation is led by Dr. Haley Yip, clinic founder and director, whose advanced clinical training in vestibular conditions goes beyond what is covered in standard physical therapy education. Vestibular rehab is a specialty within a specialty- not all physical therapists are trained to treat it at this level. If you’ve been struggling with dizziness, been told to “wait and see” or haven’t found satisfying answers elsewhere, this is where that changes.

    • BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)

    • Vestibular neuritis and Labyrinthitis

    • Unilateral & Bilateral vestibular hypofunction

    • Post-concussion dizziness & balance issues

    • Meniere’s disease

    • Cervicogenic dizziness

    • PPPD (Persistent postural-perceptual dizziness)

    • Balance disorders & fall prevention

  • A comprehensive, one-on-one evaluation to uncover the root cause of dizziness, vertigo or imbalance. We assess your symptoms, triggers and how they affect your daily life.

Your exam may include eye movement testing, inner ear assessment, balance evaluation and positional testing for conditions like BPPV. Treatment often begins the same day.

If you’ve been living with dizziness and haven’t gotten real answers- you are not alone and you are not imagining it. Vestibular disorders are frequently misdiagnoses or undertreated. Advanced vestibular rehab with a specialized clinician is often the most direct path to lasting relief.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

  • Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized area of PT focused on the muscles, connective tissue, and nerves of the pelvic region. The pelvic floor supports the bladder, bowel and reproductive organs- and when it isn’t functioning well, the effects show up as leakage, pelvic pain, pressure, sexual dysfunction, constipation, and more. These symptoms are common. They are not normal, and they are not something you have to accept.

At MBODY, pelvic health PT is provided by clinicians who specialize in this area. Your evaluation is private, thorough, and done with full respect of your comfort and autonomy. Treatment goes well beyond Kegel exercises- we address the whole system, including breathing mechanics, core function, posture, movement and the pelvic floor itself.

  • Pelvic floor dysfunction affects people of all genders. Our pelvic health practice treats women through all stages of life- prenatal, postpartum, and through perimenopause- as well as men, including post- prostatectomy recovery and pelvic pain. MBODY’s broader women’s health program extends pelvic PT into group fitness, education and postpartum rebuild programming.

    • Urinary incontinence (stress, urge, mixed)

    • Diastasis recti

    • Pelvic organ prolapse

    • Pelvic pain & chronic pelvic floor dysfunction

    • Painful intercourse (dyspareunia)

    • Prenatal pelvic pain and preparation

    • Postpartum recovery- vaginal and cesarean section

    • C-section scar tissue and adhesions

    • Fecal incontinence and bowel dysfunction

    • Post- prostatectomy (men)

  • A private, one-on-one assessment designed to understand your body at every stage. We review your history, symptoms and goals- whether related to pregnancy, postpartum, menopause or beyond.

Your session may include evaluation of breath, core and hip function, and movement patterns. With consent, an internal pelvic floor exam can be performed to assess coordination, strength, and tension.

You’ll leave with clarity, answers and a highly personalized plan that blends hands-on care, targeted exercise and education for lasting results.

MBODY’s women’s health program in Westlake Village extends PT into a full perinatal ecosystem- including postpartum cohort, prenatal yoga, birth prep classes, and baby-friendly strength training. It’s care that doesn’t stop at discharge.

Geriatric Physical Therapy

  • Geriatric physical therapy is designed to help older adults - typically 65 and older- maintain strength, mobility, and independence as they age. Balance declines, fall risk increases, joints stiffen and recovery from illness or surgery takes longer. But many of these changes are not inevitable- they respond to the right kind of movement, done consistently with expert guidance.

At MBODY, geriatric PT is built around your individual goals and current abilities. Our clinicians are patient, thorough, and skilled at designing programs that challenge you appropriately- enough to create real change, calibrated to your body and history. We also work alongside our fitness team for clients ready to transition form PT to ongoing strength training.

    • Balance deficits & fall prevention

    • Post surgical rehab (hip, knee, spine)

    • General strength & functional mobility

    • Osteoporosis & bone health

    • Gait training & walking mechanics

    • Arthritis pain management

    • Post-hospitalization reconditioning

    • Dizziness & balance disorders in older adults

  • MBODY’s silver circuit fitness class extends physical therapy into a community strength program- a small-group class for adults 55+ who are ready to build real, lasting strength in a supportive environment. Ask us about transitioning form PT to ongoing fitness care.
