BODYWORK
WHAT IS BODYWORK
Not every ache needs a diagnosis.
Sometimes your body just needs the right hands on it.
Bodywork at MBODY is a standalone, hands-on session designed to address what’s bothering you- right now. No intake process, no long-term plan of care, no referral from your doctor. You book, you come in, and you leave feeling better.
Sessions are delivered by MBODY’s clinically trained team and draw from six hands-on modalities: manual therapy, myofascial release, IASTM, cupping, theragun and kinesiotaping. Your provider selects and combines techniques base on what your body needs that day- not a preset protocol.
Bodywork is the right call when you have a flare-up that needs attention, accumulated tension that massage alone won’t touch, or you simply want expert hands working on a specific problem without committing to a full physical therapy plan. One session is enough to make a difference. More sessions are always available if you want to keep going.
-
HANDS ON JOINT & SOFT TISSUE WORK
Skilled, hands-on techniques applied directly to joints and soft tissue to improve mobility, reduce pain and restore normal movement. Manual therapy is the foundation of clinical bodywork- precise, targeted, and informed by a deep understanding of how structures in the body relate to each other.
-
FASCIA AND CONNECTIVE TISSUE WORK
Sustained pressure applied to the fascial system- the connective tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle, organ, and structure in the body. When fascia tightens or becomes restricted, it creates tension, pain, and limited movement in areas that can seem unrelated to the source. Myofascial release works at the root.
-
INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION
Specialized instruments used to direct and treat scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and areas of chronic soft tissue dysfunction. IASTM stimulates the body’s healing response, breaks up adhesions, and restores tissue mobility - particularly effective for tendinopathies, post-surgical scar tissue, and areas of chronic tightness that haven’t responded to other approaches.
-
SUCTION-BASED SOFT TISSUE DECOMPRESSION
Suction cups are applied to the skin to decompress soft tissue layers, increase blood flow, and reduce muscle tension. Where most bodywork techniques compress tissue- cupping lifts it- creating space in the tissue encouraging circulation in areas of chronic restriction.
-
PERCUSSIVE THERAPY
High-frequency percussive therapy that reaches deep into muscle tissue to reduce soreness, improve circulation, and release tension. Used strategically- not just as a warm-up or cool-down tool- percussive therapy accelerates recovery and prepares tissue for more specific hands-on work within the same session.
-
NEUROMUSCULAR SUPPORT & MOVEMENT RE-EDUCATION
Elastic therapeutic tape applied with precision to support joints and muscles without restricting movement. Kinesio taping works with the body- not against it- to enhance proprioception, improve circulation, and reduce pain.
By gently lifting the skin, it helps decrease pressure on irritated tissues while promoting lymphatic flow and recovery. Whether used for injury support, postural awareness, or performance taping reinforces better movement patterns between sessions and throughout daily life.

BOOK DIRECTLY
No referral, no prescription, no doctor’s visit first. Book your bodywork session directly online or by calling us. California law allows you to seek this care without a physicians order.
BRIEF INTAKE
Your provider takes a few minutes to understand what’s going on- where, what makes it better or worse. No lengthy paperwork, just a focused conversation to make the session as targeted as possible.
HANDS-ON SESSION
Your provider works through the techniques most appropriate for what you’re presenting with- combining modules within the session for maximum effect. You’ll feel the difference before you leave.
CLEAR NEXT STEPS
Before you go, your provider gives you specific guidance- what to do at home, whether to come back and whether a different MBODY service (PT, training, massage) might be beneficial going forward.
For the Mamas
Pregnant and postpartum bodies have specific needs- and most bodywork isn’t built for them. Ours is.
Bump Bodywork
Your body is building a human. It deserves more than “just stretch more”
A 25-minute prenatal bodywork session combining manual therapy and therapeutic taping to address round ligament pain, pregnancy back pain, hip pain, rib tightness, and pelvic pressure. Prenatal kinesiology taping moves with you throughout the day- offloading pressure from the low back. Supporting the belly, and giving overworked muscles a break between sessions.
Available throughout all trimesters.
Tightness, numbness, hypersensitivity, that shelf-like ridge- these are common after cesarean, and they’re treatable. Sessions progress from gentle scar desensitization to cupping for adhesion release and tissue mobility. Come in to learn a home routine, or let your practitioner do the work. Either way, you leave with a clearer path back to normal.
Your scar is healed. That doesn’t mean it feels normal.
